RENARDUS - Academic Subject Gateway Service Europe

The European project RENARDUS developed a retrieval system for subject gateways (subject gateways to collect and index subject related information according to their respective profiles). National libraries, academic libraries and research institutions worked together to test the possibilities of a closer technical and organisational co-operation. A pilot service was developed. The project consisted of 10 work packages (WP). German National Library concentrated on participating in the two work packages: WP 6 "Data Model and Data Flow" and WP 7 "Data interoperability". The key action areas of German National Library lie in data inoperability and multilingual access.
